Dr. Kimberly Rakes-Stephens, MD

Dr. Rakes-Stephens received her medical degree from East Tennessee State University / Quillen College of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 30 years. She owns and operates Edisto Medicine, a small adult primary care practice serving Edisto Island and the surrounding Lowcountry. She also serves as the medical director of Patriot Hospice.

Her approach is straightforward: listen first, take the time to understand the whole person, and partner with patients on their long-term health — from yearly wellness visits to managing chronic conditions.

In her free time, Dr. Rakes-Stephens loves spending time with her family at the beach, completing jig-saw puzzles, and crafting.

Jennifer Walker, NP

Jennifer Walker is a board-certified nurse practitioner and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She joins Edisto Medicine to work alongside Dr. Rakes-Stephens caring for adult patients across the Lowcountry.

She brings a warm, patient-centered approach to routine wellness visits, chronic disease management, acute concerns, and preventive care — always taking the time to answer questions and partner with patients on their goals.

In her free time, Jennifer loves spending time on the water with her two boys and husband, traveling, and listening to live music.
